Construction
Riveted steel hull which has been completely over plated, riveted and welded steel topsides, steel cabin hatch, steel wheelhouse, brass porthole windows and dome vents, brass door furniture, light switches and plug sockets, and hardwood joinery throughout. The vessel has been spray foam insulated above the waterline and with fireproof DuctWrap below the waterline.
The topsides were repainted in 2017.
Hull was last blacked in 2023 using HEMPATEX HIGH-BUILD
Anodes replaced in 2023

Accommodation
The accommodation aboard Eiland Marken offers an exceptional blend of traditional Dutch barge character and contemporary comfort. Converted to an outstanding standard using high-quality, durable materials, the interior has been thoughtfully designed to create a luxurious yet practical living environment. The standard of craftsmanship is immediately apparent throughout, with beautiful hardwood joinery, painted tongue-and-groove panelling and quality fixtures combining to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The current owners have enhanced the original layout by removing the forward bulkhead, creating an impressive open-plan living space that feels wonderfully light, spacious and sociable. Occupying the forward section of the vessel, the saloon follows the graceful curves of the hull and is flooded with natural light from the brass portholes and large opening deck hatch. The result is an elegant living area that is equally suited to entertaining guests or relaxing aboard during extended cruises.

Positioned within the forward section of the cabin is a double berth, which can be discreetly screened from the main living area by a drop-down curtain, providing privacy when required without compromising the spacious open-plan layout.

The contemporary walk-through galley is one of the highlights of the accommodation. Expertly crafted with classic Shaker-style cabinetry, polished granite worktops and matching wall units, it offers an excellent balance of style and practicality. Clever storage solutions, including a Le Mans corner unit, maximise the available space, while integrated appliances—including a fridge, freezer and washer/dryer—provide all the conveniences expected of a modern home. A traditional Butler sink with brass mixer tap and a Belling stainless steel cooker complete this beautifully appointed galley.

The spacious bathroom is equally well presented and features a classic roll-top bath with shower attachment, a Butler-style wash basin set within a bespoke vanity unit, a SeaFlo manual sea toilet and a heated towel rail. Ceramic tiled flooring and quality hardwood joinery continue the high standard of finish found throughout the vessel.

Accessed from both the accommodation and the wheelhouse, the engine room is clean, well organised and houses the propulsion engine together with the central heating boiler, batteries, inverter, charger and associated systems. Natural light from portholes and an overhead skylight makes the space particularly practical for inspection and maintenance.

The traditional wheelhouse provides excellent all-round visibility and features hardwood lining, port and starboard access doors, a full-width bench seat with storage beneath and a centrally positioned helm.

Beneath the wheelhouse lies the owner's cabin, currently arranged as a study and hobby room. The original raised bed platform remains in place and can easily be returned to a spacious master bedroom with the simple addition of a mattress. Beautiful hardwood joinery, fitted storage, brass portholes and quality carpeting create a peaceful and comfortable retreat.

Throughout the vessel, the exceptional quality of the fit-out and attention to detail are evident at every turn. Engine
Housed in a walk-through engine room is a DAF 575 6 cylinder diesel engine coupled to a shaft drive via a ZF BW 30B45 gearbox with a single lever engine control mounted at the helm, which is located in the wheelhouse above.
